Time Zones, A Poem

Well, in the name of putting myself out there, I’m posting a poem (I hear there is a cold front in Hell).  God speed readers of eD.  God speed.

Time Zones (photo taken at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, I think)

Time Zones (photo taken at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, I think)

in the time zones

the time knows

when you sleep

i lay awake

i’m not alone

but i feel so

end your day

so I find mine

feed your soul

i draw blinds

fill your mind

squeeze my eyes

hunger’s race

stars steal time

in the time zones

the time knows

when i sleep

I dream of you

so when I wake

my eyes know

in the time zones

our seconds show

Strange how something I wrote almost two years ago just popped into my head. I found myself driving to work thinking (and repeating) in the time zones the time slows…I looked up this piece of work (I use that term intentionally as a fork in the road) and it definitely brought a smile to my face. Back to this time zone I go…

  2. I had just thought of you, planned to visit, when I got your like. =)

  3. keep doing that 🙂

  4. just thought i’d visit a bit to thank you for likng my poetry today, especially our brave Linda. it was not easily written and probably a difficult read all the way thorugh, i appreciate that a lot. and then i found your poem….and this!

    end your day
    so I find mine

    feed your soul
    i draw blinds

    fill your mind
    squeeze my eyes

    hunger’s race
    stars steal time

delicious wordplay and imagery…ty for that.
